Ushuaia Ibiza | The Beach Club Hotel That Invented the Day-to-Night Format

Editor in Chief

Ushuaia Ibiza on Playa d'en Bossa is the property that codified the beach club hotel format — the idea that a pool terrace, a world-class DJ program, and hotel rooms could occupy the same building and share the same crowd from noon through 6 AM. It opened in 2011 in its current form and has hosted virtually every significant name in electronic music since: David Guetta built his Ibiza residency here, followed by Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, and more recently the techno and melodic house acts that have displaced commercial EDM as the island's dominant sound. The hotel is not a luxury property in the Four Seasons sense. It is something different: a precision-engineered experience machine with a hotel attached.

The Hotel | Rooms Built Around the Show

Ushuaia has 235 rooms across two buildings — the Ushuaia Tower and the Ushuaia Beach Hotel. Tower rooms face the pool terrace and the main stage; beach hotel rooms face the sea. The Tower is the correct choice if you came for the music. The stage faces the pool, the rooms face the stage, and you can watch the show in its entirety from your balcony after midnight. Tower double rooms start at €350 per night in June, rising to €550-€750 in peak July-August. Sea-view rooms in the Beach Hotel are €250-€450 depending on season and floor. The rooms are contemporary, clean, and well-maintained — not distinctive in themselves, but that is not the point. You sleep here for four hours and you need a shower and a bed. Both are excellent. The hotel's direct booking portal at ushuaiaibiza.com consistently offers the lowest rate and includes pool terrace access during the day for hotel guests, which is a meaningful benefit given that non-resident day passes cost €50-€100.

The Pool Terrace | Table Minimums and What You Actually Get

The pool terrace is a 2,000 square meter open-air space centered on the main stage and pool, with sunbeds, table seating, standing sections, and a VIP elevated ring that surrounds the pool. The pool itself is not a swimming pool in the conventional sense during event hours — by 3 PM it becomes a standing crowd pool with 1,000 people in it. Day events run noon to 6 PM. Night events run 10 PM through 6 AM. Table minimums during day events are €200-€800 depending on placement, all applied to food and beverage. VIP ring tables for night events carry minimums of €1,500-€4,000 for groups of four to six. Hotel guests receive priority access to the day event without a ticket, which is the single most valuable perk of staying here versus visiting as a day guest. Non-resident entry to the night events is €60-€120 per person for general access. Front-of-stage VIP wristbands run €200-€400 per person.

The DJ Calendar 2026 | What Is Resident and What Is One-Night

Ushuaia's 2026 season runs from early June through late September. The residency structure divides into weekly slots: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are the primary nights, each carrying a different resident act or genre flag. The 2026 season has expanded its melodic house and techno programming relative to commercial house, reflecting the broader shift in Ibiza's audience. The definitive schedule is published on Resident Advisor and updated in real time — check their Ushuaia club page for the current lineup before booking. Saturday nights are the peak event with the highest-profile residents and correspondingly highest ticket prices. If the primary motivation is the music and the financial constraint is real, Thursday offers 85% of the Saturday experience at 60% of the cost.

Getting There | Ibiza Airport to Playa d'en Bossa

Ibiza Airport (IBZ) sits approximately 3 kilometers from Ushuaia. Taxi from the airport to Playa d'en Bossa is 10 minutes and costs €15-€20 fixed rate. Direct flights to Ibiza in summer 2026 operate from London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Manchester, Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, and most major European hubs. Peak July-August flights from London run €150-€350 return on budget carriers and €600-€1,200 on BA or Iberia. Book flights six to eight weeks in advance for the best rate. Car rental is unnecessary if staying on the Playa d'en Bossa strip — the beach, the beach clubs, and Ushuaia itself are all walkable from the hotel. Ibiza Town is a €15 taxi ride and worth doing for dinner at least once during a longer stay. The Verdict

Ushuaia is the best property on Ibiza if your primary objective is electronic music at serious scale combined with a hotel that makes the day-to-night transition frictionless. It is not the right choice if you want quiet, fine dining, or a luxury resort atmosphere. For that, see Seven Pines. Ushuaia is the right choice if you want to wake up at the center of the island's energy and stay there until the lights come on. There is no more efficient or more precisely executed version of that experience anywhere in Europe.
