About Chanel

Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel opened her first millinery shop at 21 Rue Cambon, Paris, in 1910. Within a decade she had liberated women from corseted Edwardian silhouettes, introducing jersey fabrics, beach pyjamas, and the conceptual framework that became the little black dress.

Chanel No. 5, launched in 1921, remains the benchmark against which all luxury fragrance is measured.
